Ruth Sheehan
Ruth Sheehan is the president of Lifework Directions, LLC, a career planning, development and consulting company dedicated to enhancing individual and organizational potential and success.

Ruth has delivered career, talent management and leadership development programs for Fortune 500 corporations, universities, non-profit organizations and individuals for eighteen years. She has also provided individual career coaching for professionals, managers and executives, and consulted with organizations to develop internal talent management processes and tools.

Prior to founding Lifework Directions in 1992, Ruth worked for the IBM Corporation for almost twelve years in positions of increasing responsibility including technical support, management and leadership development. As a facilitator for IBM's Leadership Development Program, she provided leadership and career development training for hundreds of IBM managers and professionals across the United States


She is also the developer of the Career Directions Workshop . Since it's inception in 1987, this powerful experiential program has been completed by over 5,000 participants across North America and Europe with consistently outstanding feedback and results.

Ruth holds a Master of Arts in the Behavioral Sciences with emphasis in Career Planning and Development, and is a graduate of Richard Bolles' "What Color is Your Parachute?" Life/Work Planning process. She holds a secondary teaching certificate and has taught in university and special education settings. She is strongly committed to the belief that everyone embodies a unique pattern of talents and motivations, and is most likely to flourish and make their strongest contribution when they are able to implement this pattern through meaningful and rewarding work.
