Kathy Laster is Co-Founder/CEO of IMPACT, an Oklahoma City based consulting company whose core purpose is to create vibrant cultures, one team, one leader at a time. She specializes in leadership development and coaching, assessment, and building high performance, energized teams to meet competitive challenges and drive growth and profitability.
Kathy has over three decades of business management, board leadership, professional consulting, and clinical practice experience. She has worked with a host of women in in these capacities and brings a sharply focused knowledge of the problems women face in organizations and the tools needed to improve effectiveness.
Using her skills and expertise in understanding human behavior, Kathy helps leaders better understand how to leverage the potential impact they can have in their key roles and for the organizations they choose to invest their energies. Kathy has a keen interest in working with women, having navigated the political waters of corporate and private industry, and now as a small business owner. She is also a mother and understands the unique challenges women face in their lives in achieving the elusive "balance" they desire. She is a graduate of Marsha Clark's Power of Self Women's Leadership Program and has also received training and worked in numerous situations dealing with gender differences in the workplace, helping women implement strategies to increase their power and effectiveness.
As one of a few women selected for a prestigious senior management development program for AT&T, she conducted international business, delivered management development programs, and led successful sales, retail, manufacturing, product management, and customer service teams. She served as past chairperson of the Unity Health Center Hospital Board of Directors, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Past National Board President of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association; and currently serves on the Avedis governing board, an over $100M community foundation focused on health and wellness. She also serves as adjunct professor for OUHSC College of Pharmacy's Leadership Institute, a program she helped design and deliver.
Kathy is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a research emphasis in work/family balance. Her research was awarded the Society of Consulting Psychology's International Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation. She holds an MBA, with honors, from Oklahoma City University, a Master's degree in counseling from Oklahoma State University, and an undergraduate degree in Communication Consultancy from Oklahoma State University, where she was honored as the university's outstanding female graduate in 1977.
