Saying Yes ... to Saying No

The good news about being women is that we seem to be genetically disposed to serving others and have, in fact, mastered that quality. The bad news is that we often forget to serve ourselves and thus find ourselves overcommitted to others and under-committed to taking care of ourselves in the process. Learning to say no with integrity to the demands of others, especially when they conflict with our promises to ourselves, is a skill essential to our well being and our success.

Key Learning Points:

  • Identifying your 5 core values, against which choices to say yes or no are evaluated.

  • Learning how to say no with integrity by focusing on the 'larger yes' inside.

  • Practicing saying yes ... and no, appropriately, in order to achieve greater life balance.
